01 · The challenge

A small jewelry store, two big markets

The client is a Shopify store that sells gold-plated jewelry online to customers in the United States and Canada. It had no big brand name to lean on, and when AlGurus started running its Meta Ads in May 2026, monthly store sales were around $1,000, according to the store’s own figures. The goal was simple to say and hard to do: make Facebook and Instagram a steady, profitable source of online orders in two countries at once.

Gold-plated jewelry sits in a crowded space. Buyers scroll past hundreds of rings, chains and earrings every week, prices are visible everywhere, and the decision to buy is quick and visual. A store this size cannot win by outspending anyone; it has to find where its buyers actually are and keep the budget there.

Two countries, one store

The USA is the volume market and Canada the smaller one. Each needed to be judged on its own purchases and return, not hidden inside a blended total.

A thumb-stopping category

Jewelry is bought on a phone, in a second, from an image. The ads had to win in the placements where people actually stop and tap.

Return, not just reach

With a small starting base, every dollar had to come back as a purchase. The account was read on purchases and purchase ROAS from day one.

02 · The strategy

Purchases first, then let the data choose

Rather than guessing which audience or placement would work, we set the account up around one outcome, a purchase on the store, and read every result three ways: by country, by placement and by age. Budget followed what sold.

ObjectiveTurn Facebook and Instagram into a steady source of Shopify purchases from buyers in the USA and Canada, measured on purchases and purchase ROAS.

Pillar 1

One sales goal, two countries

Campaigns built for purchases across Facebook and Instagram, with the USA and Canada reported separately so each country is judged on its own return.

Pillar 2

Made for the vertical screen

Creative built for the full-screen, phone-first placements where jewelry is discovered, with the Feed as the second shop window.

Pillar 3

Budget follows purchase ROAS

Results read by placement, age and country, with spend leaning toward the slices that returned more and away from the ones that returned less.

None of this is exotic. What made the difference was discipline: the same two numbers, purchases and purchase ROAS, read the same way every time, so that a placement or an age group earned its budget instead of being given it.

03 · Execution, replayed

Press play: one season, read three ways

Drag the timeline or press play. Each stop shows how we read the account and the number behind it, and the results board fills as you go.

Starting point

A small jewelry store, two big markets

A Shopify store selling gold-plated jewelry to customers in the USA and Canada, starting small. The job: turn Facebook and Instagram into a steady source of online purchases across two countries, managed remotely from Amman.

  • Shopify store, gold-plated jewelry
  • Buyers in the USA and Canada
  • Facebook and Instagram as the sales channel
Step 1 · Purchases first

Every decision read against purchases

The account was set up around purchases, not clicks or reach. Purchases and purchase ROAS are the two numbers every report and every budget move was read against, country by country.

  • Purchases and purchase ROAS as the core metrics
  • The USA and Canada reported separately
  • Facebook and Instagram in the same account

Step 2 · Placements

Stories and Feed carry the sales

Read by placement, two placements did almost all the selling: Instagram Stories brought the most purchases and Feed the best return. Instagram Reels sold too, at a lower return.

  • Instagram Stories: 361 purchases at 2.96
  • Feed: 334 purchases at 3.13
  • Instagram Reels: 51 purchases at 2.58

Step 3 · Audience

35–44 buys most, and returns most

Read by age, the 35–44 group was both the largest buyer and the best return of the three top age groups. 25–34 and 45–54 followed, both above a 3 ROAS.

  • 35–44: 312 purchases at 3.33
  • 25–34: 181 purchases at 3.02

Step 4 · Countries

Canada smaller, but more efficient

The USA delivered the volume. Canada delivered far fewer purchases, but at a higher return, which is a reason to keep it in the plan rather than fold it into the bigger market.

05 · What we learned

Three lessons for jewelry stores selling abroad on Meta

Stories and Feed are the engine

93.2% of purchases came from two placements. For jewelry, the vertical, full-screen story and the classic feed post still do the selling.

Your best buyer may be older than you think

The 35–44 group bought the most and returned the most of the top three ages. Creative and offers aimed only at the youngest shoppers would have missed them.

Read each country on its own

Canada sold far less than the USA but at a higher return. Blended into one number, that efficiency would have been invisible.

Why Meta Ads for a jewelry store in North America

Visual by default. Stories, Feed and Reels show jewelry close up, on a phone, where it is bought.

Cross-border from one account. The USA and Canada run side by side, each read on its own purchases and ROAS.

Shopify-ready. Purchases tracked from the store back to the ad, so budget decisions rest on real sales.
