If Google

AlGurus is a technical SEO agency in Amman, Jordan, and a Google Premier Partner. We audit and fix crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, robots rules, structured data and hreflang for Arabic and English websites on Shopify, Salla, WordPress and custom builds. Every fix is prioritised by how much organic traffic the problem is costing you.

What it is

Technical SEO is the plumbing behind every ranking.

Technical SEO is the work that makes a website easy for search engines to find, crawl, render, understand and index. It does not change what your pages say. It changes whether Google can reach them, how fast they load, which version of a page counts, and which language version is shown to which searcher.

When the technical layer is broken, good content does not rank. A category page that sits behind three redirects, a product that exists at five different URLs, an Arabic site that still carries a noindex tag from the staging server: each one quietly cancels out the work done on content and links.

These problems are rarely visible to the business owner. The site looks fine in the browser. That is why we start every technical engagement with a full crawl and the data in Google Search Console, not with opinions.

Why it matters

Every other SEO investment depends on it.

Content, on-page optimisation and link building all assume Google can see the page. Technical SEO makes that assumption true. It is the first thing we check on any SEO project and the most common reason a site with good content still struggles.

It also protects revenue. A theme update, a new app, a platform migration or a careless redirect can remove pages from Google overnight. Monitoring the technical health of the site catches those problems before they show up as a drop in sales.

We do not hand you a 200-row report generated by a tool and walk away. We sort issues by impact, explain each one in plain language, and fix them ourselves or with your developer.

What's included

What our technical SEO service covers.

Nine areas we audit and fix on every site. Most projects find problems in at least four of them.

Full crawl audit

A complete crawl of the site the way Googlebot sees it on a phone, cross-checked with Search Console data, turned into a ranked fix list.

Indexing and coverage

Why pages are "Crawled, currently not indexed" or "Discovered, not indexed", and what to do about each group in the Pages report.

Core Web Vitals and speed

LCP, INP and CLS measured on real mobile data, then fixed at the source: images, scripts, fonts, apps and hosting.

Redirects and broken links

Redirect chains collapsed to one hop, loops removed, 404s with links or traffic redirected to the closest relevant page.

Canonicals and duplicates

Filter, sort and tracking parameters, collection paths and print versions consolidated so one URL collects all the signals.

Sitemaps and robots rules

Clean XML sitemaps with only indexable URLs, and robots.txt rules that block waste without blocking pages that should rank.

Hreflang for Arabic and English

Reciprocal hreflang tags and an x-default, so Google shows Arabic pages to Arabic searchers and English pages to English searchers.

Rendering and structured data

Checks that JavaScript content is visible to Google, and that schema markup is valid and matches the page.

Architecture and migrations

Shallow, logical site structure, and full redirect mapping and monitoring when you redesign or move platform.

How Google sees your site

Five steps from URL to ranking. Each one can break.

Before a page can rank, Google has to discover it, crawl it, render it and index it. Pick a step to see what usually goes wrong there and how we fix it.

Discover: can Google find the page?

Google discovers pages through links and sitemaps. Pages that no other page links to, called orphan pages, and pages missing from the sitemap may never be found, or found very late.

  • XML sitemaps with every indexable URL, submitted in Search Console
  • Orphan pages linked from menus, categories or related content
  • Important pages within three clicks of the homepage
Core Web Vitals

Speed is measured on your customers' phones, not your laptop.

Google's Core Web Vitals measure three things on real visits: how fast the main content appears (Largest Contentful Paint, good at 2.5 seconds or less), how quickly the page responds to a tap (Interaction to Next Paint, good at 200 milliseconds or less) and how much the layout jumps while loading (Cumulative Layout Shift, good at 0.1 or less).

Most slow sites in Jordan are slow for the same few reasons: very large hero images, too many apps and tracking scripts loading on every page, web fonts without size hints, and banners that push content down after it appears. Each fix is small. Together they move a page from poor to good.

Toggle the fixes to see how each one moves a different metric. We apply them in the order that gives the biggest gain for the least risk, and confirm the change in field data rather than a single lab test.

Plumbing

Redirect chains and hreflang: two quiet traffic leaks.

Both are common on Jordanian sites that have changed domain, platform or language setup over the years. Both are easy to miss and simple to fix once they are found.

Redirect chains

Every time a site moves from http to https, adds or removes www, or renames a category, a new redirect gets added on top of the old ones. Visitors barely notice. Google may stop following after several hops, and each hop slows the page down.

  5. 200https://www.yourbrand.jo/watches/men

Hreflang for Arabic and English

Hreflang tells Google that two pages are the same content in different languages. Each version must list itself and the other, and an x-default covers everyone else. One missing return link and Google may ignore the pair.

Platforms

Every platform has its own technical habits.

We work on the platforms Jordanian and Gulf businesses actually use. Each comes with its own typical problems, and its own limits on what can be changed.

Shopify

Shopify handles a lot of technical SEO well out of the box, including sitemaps and canonical tags. The problems usually come from themes and apps. As a Shopify Partner with 75+ Shopify stores built, we know where to look.

  • Internal links that use /collections/…/products/… paths instead of the canonical product URL
  • Tag-filtered collection pages creating thin, indexable duplicates
  • App scripts loading on every page and slowing LCP and INP
  • robots.txt.liquid edits and language or market URL setup with hreflang
Prioritisation

Not every warning deserves your developer's week.

Crawling tools flag hundreds of issues on almost any site. Many are harmless. Treating them all as urgent wastes budget and developer time, and the important problems get lost in the noise.

We plot every finding by two questions: how much traffic or revenue is it likely costing, and how much work is the fix. High-impact, low-effort fixes go first. Low-impact, high-effort items are documented and often never done, on purpose.

Click a point on the matrix to see why it sits where it does. Your own matrix arrives with the audit, written for your site.

Staging noindex on Arabic pages

High impact, minutes to fix. Every Arabic page was excluded from Google. Removing one tag lets the whole Arabic site compete.

Migrations and redesigns

Moving platform or redesigning? This is where rankings are lost.

A new website is the single most common cause of a sudden drop in organic traffic. URLs change, old pages disappear, and years of rankings are lost in a weekend. It does not have to happen.

When you move from WordPress to Shopify, from one theme to another, or from a custom build to Salla, we protect the rankings you already have:

  • Full crawl and traffic export of the old site before anything changes.
  • A one-to-one redirect map from every old URL with traffic or links to its closest new equivalent.
  • Pre-launch checks on the staging site: titles, canonicals, noindex, hreflang and schema.
  • Launch-day and post-launch monitoring in Search Console, with fixes the same week.
Proof

The foundation under our biggest SEO results.

A technical audit and fixes are the first stage of every SEO program we run. These are full program results: technical work made them possible, alongside content and links, rather than producing them alone.

Honest fit

When technical SEO is (and isn't) the right choice.

Technical SEO is essential, but it is not always where the next ranking gain is hiding.

A strong fit when

  • Pages are missing from Google or stuck in "Crawled, currently not indexed".
  • Traffic dropped after a redesign, migration, theme change or new app.
  • Your site is slow on mobile and Core Web Vitals show "poor" in Search Console.
  • You run a large store with filters, variants and thousands of URLs.
  • You have Arabic and English versions and the wrong one shows in search.

Not the main lever when

  • Your site is small, fast and fully indexed. Your gains are more likely in on-page SEO and content.
  • Competitors simply have more authority. Then you need backlink building, not more fixes.
  • You want a tool report only. We prefer to fix what we find; an audit nobody implements changes nothing.
  • The site will be replaced soon. Put the effort into getting the new one right at launch.

FAQ

Technical SEO questions, answered.

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is the optimisation of a website's infrastructure so search engines can discover, crawl, render and index its pages efficiently. It covers site speed, Core Web Vitals, redirects, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, structured data, hreflang and site architecture.

How do I know if my site has technical SEO problems?

Common signs are pages missing from Google, many URLs listed as not indexed in Search Console's Pages report, poor Core Web Vitals, a traffic drop after a site change, or the wrong language version showing in search. A crawl confirms the cause.

What is a technical SEO audit and what does it include?

Our audit includes a full crawl, a Search Console review, rendering checks, Core Web Vitals analysis, redirect and status code checks, canonical and duplicate analysis, sitemap and robots review, hreflang validation and structured data testing. Every finding comes with its impact, effort and the exact fix.

Do you fix the issues or only report them?

We fix them. On Shopify, Salla and WordPress we usually implement directly. On custom builds we write precise tickets for your developers and verify each fix after it ships.

What are Core Web Vitals and do they affect rankings?

Core Web Vitals are Google's measures of loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP) and visual stability (CLS). They are part of Google's page experience signals. They rarely outrank relevance, but between similar pages they can make a difference, and faster pages convert better regardless.

How long does technical SEO take to show results?

Blocking issues such as a stray noindex or a robots.txt mistake can show results within days to weeks of the fix being crawled. Speed improvements show in field data over about four weeks, because Core Web Vitals use a rolling 28-day window. Wider structural changes take longer.

Can you protect our rankings during a website migration?

Yes. We crawl the old site, build a one-to-one redirect map, check the new site before launch and monitor Search Console closely afterwards. Starting before the new site is built gives the best protection.

Do you work on Arabic and bilingual websites?

Yes, it is most of our work. We set up hreflang, check Arabic URL handling, right-to-left rendering and that each language version is indexed and shown to the right searchers.

Is technical SEO a one-time project?

The main audit and fixes are a project. After that, sites change constantly with new products, apps and theme updates, so we recommend a monthly health check as part of an ongoing SEO program.

Can you guarantee rankings after the fixes?

No one can guarantee rankings. Technical SEO removes the barriers; content, relevance and authority decide how high a page goes. We guarantee clear findings, verified fixes and honest reporting.
