Arabic & Bilingual SEO Agency in Amman, Jordan

One business.
Two languages.
Both on page one.

Arabic search is not English search translated. We research how people in Jordan and the Gulf actually type, in dialect, standard Arabic, Arabizi and English, then build pages that rank in both languages without competing with each other.

At a glance

AlGurus is an Arabic and bilingual SEO agency in Amman, Jordan, and a Google Premier Partner. We research Arabic keywords across dialect, Modern Standard Arabic, Arabizi and spelling variants, write native Arabic copy rather than translations, set up hreflang and URL structure, check right-to-left page quality and target Jordan and Gulf markets, so websites rank in Arabic and English at the same time.

What it is

Bilingual SEO means two search markets, not one site in two languages.

In Jordan and the Gulf, the same customer may search "men's watches" on Monday and "ساعات رجالي" on Tuesday. Some type in standard Arabic, some in dialect, some in Arabic words written with Latin letters and numbers. Each of these is a different search, with different competitors and different results.

Arabic and bilingual SEO is the work of ranking for all of them: finding the real Arabic searches, writing pages that match them, and connecting the Arabic and English versions so Google shows the right one to the right person and they never compete with each other.

Most bilingual websites in the region do the opposite. The English site is built first, the Arabic site is translated at the end, and the Arabic pages target words nobody searches.

Why it matters

The Arabic results are often the easier page one to win.

In many industries, English results in Jordan are crowded with international sites, marketplaces and directories. The Arabic results for the same need are frequently weaker: fewer pages, thinner content, poor translations.

A business that publishes genuinely good Arabic pages can often compete there faster, while the English pages build up over time. Bilingual SEO lets you win both markets with one website and one strategy.

It also matters for AI search. Systems like Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT answer Arabic questions from Arabic sources. If your expertise only exists in English, you are missing from those answers.

Translated vs localised

A translation says the same thing. A localised page says the right thing.

Machine translation, and even careful human translation, keeps the structure and wording of the English page. The result is often correct Arabic that nobody would write: literal phrases, the wrong word for the product, prices in the wrong format, and none of the terms people actually search.

Localisation starts from the Arabic search and the Arabic reader. We keep the facts, then rewrite the title, headings and copy around how the product is actually described and searched in Arabic. Switch between the three versions to see the difference.

Structure

How to structure an Arabic and English website.

Google can rank any of these setups. What matters is that each language version has its own URL, is linked with hreflang, and is not hidden behind a cookie or a language switcher that only works with JavaScript.

SetupExampleGood forWatch out for

Language parameteryourbrand.jo/?lang=arRarely the best choice.Easy to mishandle; often ends up with one version unindexed.
Cookie or script onlySame URL, language switched in the browserNot recommended for SEO.Google usually sees only one language.

Arabic or English URL slugs? Both work. Arabic slugs such as /ساعات-رجالية match the language of the page and display well in Arabic results, but they turn into long encoded strings when copied into some apps and emails. English or transliterated slugs are easier to share. We choose per site, then keep it consistent.

Jordan and the Gulf

Same language, different markets.

A Saudi shopper and a Jordanian shopper both search in Arabic, but they see prices in different currencies, expect different delivery promises and sometimes use different words for the same thing. One Arabic page cannot always serve both well.

When prices, delivery or wording really differ, we create country versions and connect them with hreflang codes such as ar-JO and ar-SA. When they don't, one Arabic page is better than several thin copies. Pick a market to see how one snippet adapts.

RTL quality

Arabic pages have to look Arabic, not flipped.

Right-to-left layout is more than setting dir="rtl". Arrows point the wrong way, prices appear in the wrong order, brackets around English words break, and fonts fall back to something that does not match the brand. Visitors notice immediately, and pages that feel broken lose trust and sales.

We review Arabic templates on real phones and fix what breaks: mirrored icons, number and currency order, mixed-direction text, Arabic font loading and line height. Many of these problems also affect how the text appears in search snippets.

Good RTL quality is not a ranking factor on its own. It is what makes Arabic visitors stay, read and buy once your SEO brings them in.

Arabic in AI answers

AI assistants answer Arabic questions from Arabic pages.

More people now ask Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity their questions directly, often in Arabic. Those systems pull answers from pages that state facts clearly in the same language as the question.

Arabic pages with direct answers near the top of each section, consistent business details and clear headings are easier for these systems to understand and cite. We build that into every Arabic page we write. For a dedicated program to be cited in AI answers, see our GEO service.

Honest fit

When Arabic and bilingual SEO is (and isn't) the right choice.

A strong fit when

  • Your customers search in Arabic, even if your current site is English only.
  • You have an Arabic version that was translated and gets little traffic.
  • Google shows the wrong language version, or both versions compete for the same search.
  • You sell in Jordan and the Gulf with different prices or delivery per country.

Not the right choice when

  • Your audience only searches in English, for example some B2B or international services.
  • You cannot maintain an Arabic version. An outdated Arabic site hurts more than it helps.
  • You only need quick translation without search research. That is a translation job, not SEO.
  • Your site has basic problems in both languages. Start with technical SEO.

FAQ

Arabic and bilingual SEO questions, answered.

What is Arabic SEO?

Arabic SEO is optimising a website to rank in Arabic search results. It includes Arabic keyword research across dialects and spellings, native Arabic content, right-to-left page quality and technical setup such as hreflang.

Can I just translate my English pages into Arabic?

Translation is a starting point, not an SEO strategy. Translated pages often use words people do not search. We keep the facts and rewrite the Arabic page around real Arabic searches.

Should I target dialect or Modern Standard Arabic?

Usually both, in the right places. Research shows which form people use for each topic. Pages are normally written in clear standard Arabic that everyone understands, with common dialect terms used naturally where people search that way.

What is Arabizi and does it matter for SEO?

Arabizi is Arabic written with Latin letters and numbers, such as "sa3a" for ساعة. It appears in some searches, especially brand and product names. We check whether it matters in your market and cover important terms naturally, without stuffing pages with them.

Does Google treat ة and ه, or أ and ا, as the same?

Google often understands these variants, but not always for every search, and results can differ. We check how results change for the variants your customers use and make sure the page reads naturally for the main forms.

What is hreflang and do I need it?

Hreflang tags tell Google which pages are language or country versions of each other. If you have Arabic and English versions, you need them, set up on both pages of every pair with an x-default.

Should my Arabic site be on /ar/ or a subdomain?

For most businesses a subfolder such as /ar/ is the simplest and lets both languages share authority. Subdomains and country domains make sense in specific cases, such as separate platforms or strong country targeting.

Can you target Saudi Arabia and the UAE from Jordan?

Yes. We work with clients in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Iraq. When prices, delivery or vocabulary differ, we create country versions with hreflang codes such as ar-SA and ar-AE.

Do Arabic pages help with AI answers?

Yes. AI assistants answer Arabic questions from Arabic sources. Clear, factual Arabic pages make your business easier to cite. Our GEO service covers this in depth.

Can you guarantee rankings in both languages?

No one can guarantee rankings. We guarantee native-quality work in both languages, a correct technical setup and honest reporting for each language every month.
