Custom websites designed from a blank page around your brand, your content and the one action you need visitors to take. Arabic and English built together, fast on every phone, ready for search, and easy for your team to edit.
Spaces shaped by light and stone.
Book a studio visitAlGurus builds custom websites in Amman, Jordan: sites designed from a blank page and coded around one brand, instead of adapted from a theme. Every build includes a bespoke design system, Arabic and English layouts designed together, technical SEO, analytics events and a content editor your team can use. We recommend WordPress or Shopify instead when they fit better, and you own the code, domain and hosting.
A custom website is designed and coded specifically for one business. There is no purchased theme underneath, no page builder adding weight to every page, and no layout that thousands of other companies in your sector are already using. The design starts from your brand, your customers and the decision you want them to make, and the code is written to deliver exactly that design and nothing else.
That matters most for brands where design is part of what the customer buys: architecture and interior studios, hospitality, fashion and jewellery, clinics, schools, real estate developers and professional firms. It also matters for any business whose website has to connect to something real, such as a booking system, a CRM, an inventory feed or a WhatsApp sales team.
Every page type designed for desktop and mobile, in Arabic and English, and approved as a clickable prototype before a line of code is written.
Colours, type, spacing and components defined once as tokens, so every new page your team adds still looks like the brand.
Right-to-left layouts planned from the first wireframe, with proper Arabic typography, numbers, forms and search.
A structured editor for pages, projects, services and blog posts, with fields that match your content instead of a blank page builder.
Clean semantic code, optimised images, structured data, sitemaps, hreflang and redirects from your old URLs, all done before launch.
Booking, forms to CRM, WhatsApp click-to-chat, Meta pixel and Conversions API, GA4 events and any system with an API.
A beautiful homepage that does not tell visitors what to do next is decoration. Before we design anything, we decide what each part of a page is for. Pick a number on the blueprint to see the reasoning behind each block of a typical custom homepage.
Navigation on a custom site is built from your sitemap and your analytics, not from a theme's default menu. We keep the top level short, put the primary action in the header on every page, and make the language switch obvious so Arabic and English visitors land on the right version.
On mobile, the menu is designed separately, not squeezed. The most-used pages sit within thumb reach and the call or WhatsApp button stays visible while scrolling.
The first screen has one job: tell the visitor in a single sentence what you do and for whom, then offer one clear next step. We write this copy with you, because the design cannot rescue a vague headline.
Hero images and video are prepared for speed, with the main image loaded first and sized for each screen, so the largest element on the page appears quickly.
Visitors trust what they can verify. Depending on your business that means a project gallery, client logos, reviews, certifications or a short case story. We design proof blocks that your team can update from the CMS as new work is finished.
Every service or product line gets a block on the homepage and a dedicated page underneath it, each written to answer the question a real customer searches for. This structure is what lets the site rank for specific searches instead of only your brand name.
Booking a visit, requesting a quote, calling, or opening WhatsApp with a pre-filled message: we design the conversion flow end to end, connect it to the tool where your team works, and track every step as a GA4 event so you know which pages produce enquiries.
Address, opening hours, map, legal pages and contact details, marked up with structured data so search engines understand where and when you operate. For businesses in Amman and across the Gulf this supports local search and Google Maps visibility.
Templates look consistent on launch day and drift apart as soon as people start adding pages. A custom website is built on a design system: a small set of named decisions, called tokens, for colour, typography, spacing and corner shapes, plus a library of components such as buttons, cards, forms and galleries built from those tokens.
Change a token and every page follows. Add a new service page and it already looks right, because your team is choosing from approved components rather than designing from scratch. Try it below: the same components, three different brands.
The result is a site that keeps its quality as it grows, and a set of brand assets your marketing team can reuse for ads, landing pages and social content.
Most themes are designed in English and then flipped for Arabic, which is why so many bilingual sites in Jordan and the Gulf have broken alignment, awkward line breaks and icons pointing the wrong way. We design both directions side by side from the first wireframe, so the Arabic site feels native rather than mirrored as an afterthought.
Spaces shaped by light and stone.
Architecture studio in Amman since 2016مساحات يصنعها الضوء والحجر.
استوديو عمارة في عمّان منذ 2016Arabic and Latin fonts chosen as a pair, with sizes and line heights tuned separately, because Arabic needs more vertical room to read comfortably.
Navigation, arrows and progress steps flip direction, while phone numbers, prices, logos and media controls stay left to right as readers expect.
Arabic form validation, search that handles letter variants, separate URLs per language with hreflang tags, and metadata written for each market.
Google measures real-world page experience with three Core Web Vitals, and publishes the thresholds a page needs to be rated "good". We design and build against those thresholds from the start rather than trying to fix speed after launch, because the biggest gains come from decisions made in design: how many fonts, how large the hero image, how much script each page really needs.
How quickly the main content appears. We preload the hero image, serve modern formats sized for each screen and avoid render-blocking code.
How quickly the page responds to a tap. Lean, purpose-written JavaScript instead of sliders and page-builder scripts that load on every page.
How much the page jumps while loading. Every image, embed and font has reserved space, so buttons stay where the visitor is about to tap.
Illustrative waterfall, not a measurement. Bar length shows relative load order and weight.
Every custom website we launch includes clean heading structure, unique titles and meta descriptions per page, structured data for your organisation, services, articles and local business details, an XML sitemap, canonical tags, hreflang for Arabic and English, and image alt text. When you are replacing an existing site, we map every old URL to its new home with permanent redirects, so the rankings you already earned are carried over rather than lost.
Because AlGurus also runs SEO and GEO for clients, we build sites the way our own SEO team wants to receive them: easy to crawl, easy for AI assistants to quote, and easy to extend with new landing pages when a campaign needs one.
We build all four, so we have no reason to push one. Custom is the right answer less often than most agencies admit. This is how the options compare on the questions that usually decide it.
| Question | Website builder | WordPress theme | Shopify | Custom website |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | A simple first site, fast | Content-heavy sites on a budget | Selling products online | Brands where design and integrations matter |
| Design freedom | Within the builder's blocks | Within the theme, more with custom code | Theme sections, fully custom themes possible | Anything you can draw |
| Arabic and RTL | Varies, often limited | Depends on the theme and plugins | Good with the right theme setup | Designed in from the first screen |
| Speed | Fair, limited control | Varies widely with plugins | Good, managed hosting | Built to Core Web Vitals targets |
| Integrations | The builder's app store | Large plugin ecosystem | Large app ecosystem | Any system with an API |
| Upfront investment | Lowest | Low to medium | Low to medium | Highest |
If you mainly sell products, a well-built Shopify store almost always beats a custom ecommerce site; we have built more than 75 of them. If your team publishes a lot of articles and needs familiar editing, WordPress development is often the better value. Custom makes sense when the website itself is part of the brand experience, when it must connect to systems the platforms do not support well, or when you are tired of fighting a theme to make it look like you.
We are a digital marketing agency with a development team, so we judge a website by what it does for the business. These are the things we measure on every custom website after launch, and report on in plain language.
LCP, INP and CLS from real visitors in Search Console, per page type and per device.

Since 2018 AlGurus has worked with more than 120 brands across Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Iraq, the USA and Canada, and built more than 75 Shopify stores. The same team that runs SEO and paid campaigns reviews every website we build, so it is ready for traffic from day one.
Official partner programmes for the platforms our websites connect to most: Google Analytics, Search and Ads, Meta pixel and Conversions API, and Shopify for sites that sell.
Custom website case studies and live examples are shared on your strategy call, under NDA where a client asks for it.
Most website projects that go wrong do so because content arrives late or the brief changes halfway through. Our process puts structure and content first, so design and development move quickly once they start.

Reference:
A custom website is designed and coded specifically for one business, without a purchased theme or page builder underneath. The layout, components and code are created around your brand, content and goals, so the site looks unique, loads only what it needs and can connect to the systems you use.
A theme is a ready-made design shared by many sites that you adjust within its limits. A custom website starts from a blank page in Figma and is built to match that design exactly. WordPress can still be used as the editor behind a custom design; what makes it custom is that the front end is written for you rather than bought.
The cost depends on the number of page types, the languages, the integrations such as booking or CRM, and how much content we help write. A focused brochure site is a much smaller project than a site with a member area or live inventory. After a short discovery we fix the scope and price before design begins.
Timelines depend mostly on scope and how quickly content and feedback arrive. Discovery and structure come first, then design, then development and launch. We share a dated plan at the start and demo progress on a staging site every week, so there are no surprises at the end.
Yes. Every custom website includes a CMS with structured fields for your pages, services, projects and articles in both languages. Your team edits content and adds pages from approved components, so the design stays consistent without needing a developer for everyday changes.
Yes, and we design both languages together from the first wireframe. That includes right-to-left layouts, Arabic typography, mirrored navigation, numbers and phone formats that stay left to right, separate URLs per language and hreflang tags for search engines.
A custom site gives you full control over the things search engines care about: speed, clean HTML, headings, structured data, internal links and URL structure. We build to Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds and set up Search Console before launch. Rankings still depend on content and authority, which our SEO team can help with.
Not if the migration is planned properly. We crawl your current site, list every URL that receives traffic or links, and map each one to its new address with permanent redirects. Titles, descriptions and important content are carried across, and we monitor Search Console closely in the weeks after launch.
You do. The domain, hosting account, code repository, CMS and design files are registered to your business. You can keep working with us on a care plan or move to another team at any time with full documentation.
If selling products online is the main purpose, Shopify is usually the better choice: checkout, payments, shipping and apps are already solved. A custom website suits brands whose site is about presenting work, services or experiences, or that must connect to systems ecommerce platforms do not handle well. Sometimes the answer is both: a custom brand site with a Shopify store behind the shop link.
Book a strategy call. Send us your current site and two websites you admire. We will tell you honestly whether you need custom, WordPress or Shopify, and what a first version could look like.
