At a glance

AlGurus Shopify Consultation is a senior review of an existing or planned Shopify store, run from Amman, Jordan, by a Shopify Partner team that has built 75+ Shopify stores since 2018. It covers a 7-point store health check (theme, speed, apps, checkout, payments for Jordan and the Gulf, tracking and SEO), an app stack review, migration advice and a 90-day growth roadmap.

You receive a written report, a ranked fix list and a recorded walkthrough in Arabic or English. Your own team can implement it, or AlGurus can.

What the consultation covers

Four kinds of second opinion. One store.

Most owners come to us with one question: why is my store not selling more? The answer usually sits across several areas at once, so a Shopify consultation looks at the whole store, then goes deep where the money is.

Store health check

A structured review of seven areas that decide whether a visitor becomes a buyer. Every finding gets a severity, the evidence and the exact fix, so nothing stays vague.

  • Theme, layout and mobile UX
  • Speed and Core Web Vitals
  • Checkout and delivery clarity
  • Payments per market
  • Tracking and conversion data
  • SEO and AI answer readiness

App stack review

Apps are where many Shopify stores slow down and leak money. We list every installed app, what it does, what it loads on the page and whether Shopify already does the same job natively.

  • Overlapping apps
  • Leftover code from removed apps
  • Scripts loaded per page
  • Native Shopify alternatives
  • Data and permission access
  • Keep, merge or remove verdict

Migration advice

Thinking of moving from WooCommerce, Salla or a custom build? We tell you honestly whether the move is worth it, what transfers cleanly and what needs care, before you commit budget.

  • Platform fit for your markets
  • Products, customers and orders
  • URL redirects to protect SEO
  • Arabic and English setup
  • Payments and couriers
  • Launch and cut-over plan

Growth roadmap

The diagnosis turns into a 90-day plan: what to fix first, what to improve next and when the store is ready for more ad spend. Each action has an owner and a reason.

  • Conversion rate priorities
  • Average order value levers
  • Repeat purchase flows
  • Merchandising and collections
  • Ads readiness check
  • Quarterly progress review
The 7-point health check

Area by area: what we check, and why it costs you sales.

This is the order we read a store in. Pick an area to see what our consultants look at, a typical finding from a sample store, and what the fix usually involves.

Theme & design

Your theme is the shop floor. We check whether it still receives updates, whether past developers edited core files in ways that block those updates, and whether the mobile layout guides a shopper from the homepage to a product and into the cart without friction. For bilingual stores we review the Arabic version separately, because right-to-left layouts break in places the English version never shows.

What we check

  • Theme version, Online Store 2.0 sections and app blocks
  • Custom code that blocks safe theme updates
  • Mobile layout of home, collection and product pages
  • Price, delivery and trust details above the fold
  • Arabic right-to-left rendering, fonts and menus
Sample findingCritical
The theme was copied and edited directly three years ago. It cannot be updated without losing the custom product page.
Theme health38 / 100
Rebuild the custom parts as theme sections, then move to the current theme version.

Speed

Paid traffic lands on your slowest page more often than you think. We measure Core Web Vitals from real visitor data in Google Search Console and PageSpeed Insights, then test key pages on a mid-range phone over a mobile connection, which is how many shoppers in Jordan and the Gulf actually browse. Then we trace each delay to its cause: images, fonts, scripts or theme code.

What we check

  • Largest Contentful Paint, INP and layout shift on mobile
  • Image sizes, formats and lazy loading
  • Third-party and app scripts on every page
  • Sliders, videos and heavy hero sections
  • Fonts, including Arabic font files
Sample findingCritical
Mobile collection pages take over 4 seconds to show the first products. Eleven apps load scripts on every page.
Mobile LCP4.6 s
Targetunder 2.5 s
Compress and resize hero images, defer non-essential scripts, remove two unused apps.

Apps

Every app promises more sales. Together they often deliver a slower store, conflicting pop-ups and monthly bills nobody reviews. We list each app, what it adds to the page and whether it earns its place. When an app is uninstalled its code is often left behind in the theme, so we look for that too.

What we check

  • Apps that do the same job twice
  • Leftover code from removed apps
  • Apps that native Shopify features can replace
  • Permissions and customer data access
  • Whether each app is actually used and measured
Sample findingHigh
Three pop-up apps compete on the homepage. A shopper on mobile closes two pop-ups before seeing a product.
Apps with overlapping features4 of 14
Keep one pop-up tool with one offer. Remove the others and clean their code from the theme.

Checkout

Shoppers abandon when something surprises them late: a delivery fee, a long delivery time, a required field they do not understand. We walk through the full path from product page to order confirmation as a customer in each of your markets, and note every point where a buyer could hesitate.

What we check

  • Delivery cost and time shown before checkout
  • Address fields that fit Jordan and Gulf addresses
  • Phone number capture for couriers and WhatsApp
  • Cart drawer, upsells and discount code field
  • Abandoned checkout emails and follow-ups
Sample findingCritical
The delivery fee appears only at the last step. Postcode is required, but most Jordan customers do not use one.
Checkout steps with surprises3
Show delivery cost on the product page, make postcode optional, add the area field.

Payments

People pay the way they trust. In Jordan that often means cash on delivery or CliQ. In Saudi Arabia it is Mada, Apple Pay and instalments. A store that sells across the region but shows one payment mix to everyone leaves orders on the table. We review what each market sees and what your provider can enable.

What we check

  • Payment methods per market and per device
  • Cash on delivery rules, fees and confirmation
  • Currency display and rounding, including JOD
  • Shopify Markets setup for each country
  • Payment logos and trust signals on product pages
Sample findingHigh
Saudi visitors see prices in JOD and no Mada option. Instalment providers are not offered in any market.
Markets with a local payment mix1 of 3
Set up Shopify Markets for KSA and UAE with local currency and the methods your provider supports.

Tracking

If the numbers are wrong, every decision after them is a guess. Ad platforms optimise on the purchases they are told about, so double-counted or missing orders quietly push budget in the wrong direction. We compare Shopify orders with what Meta, Google, Snapchat and GA4 report, and find where the gap comes from.

What we check

  • Meta pixel and Conversions API deduplication
  • GA4 ecommerce events and revenue match
  • Google Ads conversions and enhanced conversions
  • Snapchat and TikTok pixels where you advertise
  • Shopify customer events and consent settings
Sample findingCritical
Meta reports 1.8 purchases for every real order. The pixel and Conversions API send the same event without a shared ID.
Platform vs store orders+80%
Use one integration with event deduplication, then check reported purchases against Shopify orders weekly.

SEO & GEO

Organic traffic is the cheapest traffic a store gets, and Shopify needs some care to earn it. We review page titles, collection content, duplicate product URLs, structured data and the Arabic and English versions of the store. We also check whether your brand and products appear when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Overviews what to buy.

What we check

  • Titles, descriptions and collection page copy
  • Product structured data and rich results
  • Arabic and English URLs, hreflang and translation
  • Indexing in Google Search Console
  • Brand visibility in AI answers
Sample findingMedium
Collection pages have no text above or below the products, so Google has little to rank them for.
Collections with useful copy2 of 18
Write short buying guides for the top collections in Arabic and English, add FAQ content.
App stack review

Fewer apps. Faster store. Same features.

The average store we review has collected apps over several years: a reviews app from launch, an upsell tool someone tested once, a currency switcher that Shopify Markets now handles. Each one adds scripts to the page and a line to the monthly bill. Few owners know which ones still earn their place.

We give every app a clear verdict: keep, merge or remove. Where Shopify now does the job natively, we say so. Where an app was removed but its code stayed in the theme, we list the files so your developer can clean them. The result is usually a store that loads faster, looks calmer and costs less to run, without losing anything customers use.

  • Shopify MarketsLocal currency, prices and domains per country, often replacing currency switcher apps.
  • Translate & AdaptArabic and English content managed inside Shopify for many stores.
  • Search & Discovery, Forms, BundlesFilters, sign-up forms and product bundles from Shopify's own apps.

Checkout & payments for Jordan and the Gulf

The checkout your buyers expect to see.

A Shopify checkout that works in the US can feel foreign in Amman or Riyadh. We review payments, delivery and currency market by market, and give you the questions to settle with your payment provider and courier.

Selling in Jordan

Cash on delivery is still common, and many buyers want to confirm the order by phone or WhatsApp before it ships. CliQ and local wallets are growing fast. Prices in JOD use three decimals, which some themes display badly.

Cash on deliveryCliQVisa & MastercardApple PayLocal wallets
  • Is cash on delivery shown clearly, with any fee and the confirmation step?
  • Do addresses use areas and landmarks instead of postcodes?
  • Are JOD prices displayed with the right decimals across the store?
  • Do delivery times for Amman and other governorates appear before checkout?

Selling in Saudi Arabia

Saudi shoppers expect Mada, Apple Pay and buy-now-pay-later options, prices in SAR and an Arabic-first store. If you sell mainly in Saudi Arabia, we may also tell you that Salla is the better platform. We are a Salla Partner too.

MadaApple PayTabbyTamaraVisa & Mastercard
  • Do Saudi visitors see SAR prices and an Arabic store by default?
  • Which instalment providers can your business registration support?
  • Are delivery promises realistic for cross-border shipping from Jordan?
  • Is VAT shown the way Saudi buyers expect?

Selling in the UAE

UAE buyers are used to fast delivery, card and wallet payments, and instalments for higher-value items. Many browse in English, so the English store needs the same care as the Arabic one.

Apple PayGoogle PayVisa & MastercardTabbyTamara
  • Does the store switch to AED and the right delivery options automatically?
  • Are instalments offered on products where they help conversion?
  • Is the English store as complete as the Arabic one?
  • Are returns and delivery terms easy to find before purchase?

Which payment methods you can switch on depends on your business registration and the payment provider approved for your store. We confirm the realistic set during the consultation.

Migration advice

Should you move to Shopify? An honest answer first.

A migration is a big decision with real risk to your rankings and your customer data. Before anyone moves a single product, we write you a short memo: is the move worth it, what moves cleanly, what needs care, and what to watch on launch day. Pick where you are today.

Our usual read

Often worth it, if plugins and hosting are slowing you down.

WooCommerce stores that have grown through plugins tend to struggle with speed, updates and security. Shopify removes most of that work. The main risk is SEO: every old URL needs a redirect, and product data needs cleaning on the way across.

Moves cleanly

  • Products, variants and images
  • Customers and order history
  • Collections and categories
  • Blog posts and pages

Needs care

  • URL structure and 301 redirects
  • Custom fields and product options
  • Arabic and English versions
  • Plugins with no Shopify equivalent

Watch on launch

  • Customer passwords do not transfer
  • Tracking pixels and conversions
  • Search Console and sitemaps
  • Payment and courier setup
Our usual read

Stay on Salla if Saudi Arabia is your only market. Move if you are going regional.

As both a Shopify Partner and a Salla Partner, we have no reason to push you either way. Salla is strong for Saudi-only stores. Shopify makes more sense when you sell across several countries, need deeper app integrations or want more control over the theme.

Moves cleanly

  • Products and images
  • Categories into collections
  • Customer list
  • Static pages

Needs care

  • Saudi payment methods on Shopify
  • Arabic-first theme setup
  • URL redirects from the old domain
  • Shipping company integrations

Watch on launch

  • Customers must reset passwords
  • Snapchat and Meta pixels
  • VAT and invoice settings
  • Order notifications in Arabic
Our usual read

Worth it when the custom build has become expensive to maintain.

Custom stores and smaller platforms often start well and age badly: every change needs a developer, and security updates are on you. Shopify trades some flexibility for a stable, maintained platform. We check whether the custom features you rely on can be rebuilt with apps or theme code.

Moves cleanly

  • Products via CSV import
  • Customer records
  • Images and media
  • Content pages

Needs care

  • Custom features and integrations
  • Order history format
  • Every old URL mapped to a new one
  • ERP or stock system connection

Watch on launch

  • Rankings in the first weeks
  • Redirect errors in Search Console
  • Conversion tracking continuity
  • Staff training on the new admin
Our usual read

Choose the platform for the markets you will sell in, not the one a friend uses.

For a new brand selling in Jordan, the Gulf or internationally, Shopify is usually the safest start. For a Saudi-only brand, Salla can be. We help you decide, then plan the store structure, payments and launch before you spend on design.

Decide first

  • Markets and currencies
  • Arabic, English or both
  • Payment and delivery partners
  • Product catalogue structure

Plan before design

  • Collections and navigation
  • Apps you truly need
  • Tracking from day one
  • SEO-friendly URLs

Avoid at launch

  • Installing apps "just in case"
  • Launching ads without tracking
  • Copying a competitor's theme
  • Skipping mobile testing
Growth roadmap

From diagnosis to a 90‑day plan you can tick off.

A report that sits in a folder changes nothing. Every Shopify consultation ends with a roadmap in three phases: fix what is broken, improve how the store converts, then grow. Ads come last on purpose. Sending more traffic to a store that leaks is the most expensive mistake we see.

Sample roadmap for an invented store · tick tasks to see progress

Who it is for

Owners who want the truth about their store before they spend more.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before a Shopify consultation.

What is a Shopify consultation?+

It is a senior review of your Shopify store, or your plan for one. AlGurus checks theme, speed, apps, checkout, payments, tracking and SEO, then gives you a written report, a ranked fix list and a 90-day roadmap. It is advice and a plan, not a rebuild.

Do you need access to my Shopify admin?+

Yes, but limited. As a Shopify Partner we send a collaborator request, and you choose exactly which sections we can see. We also ask for view access to GA4, Search Console and your ad accounts so we can compare the numbers.

Will you change anything on my store during the consultation?+

No. The consultation is review only. We do not edit your theme, apps, settings or products unless you ask us to implement the fixes afterwards.

How long does a Shopify consultation take?+

Usually one to two weeks from access to report, depending on the size of the store and how many markets you sell in. The walkthrough call follows when the report is ready.

Do you only consult on stores that AlGurus built?+

No. Most stores we review were built by someone else: an in-house team, a freelancer or another agency. A second opinion is most useful when it comes from outside the original build.

Can my own developer implement the recommendations?+

Yes. The findings log and tracking spec are written for developers, with the exact page, file or setting for each fix. If you prefer, AlGurus can implement through our Shopify Development service.

We are not on Shopify yet. Can you help us decide?+

Yes. Migration advice covers moves from WooCommerce, Salla, custom builds and other platforms, and helps new brands choose. Because we are both a Shopify Partner and a Salla Partner, we will tell you honestly if staying where you are is the better option.

Which payment methods can my Shopify store offer in Jordan and the Gulf?+

It depends on your business registration and the payment provider approved for your store. Common options include cash on delivery and CliQ in Jordan, Mada, Apple Pay, Tabby and Tamara in Saudi Arabia, and cards, wallets and instalments in the UAE. We confirm the realistic set for your business during the consultation.

Do you consult for stores outside Jordan?+

Yes. We work with brands in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Qatar, the USA and Canada. Sessions run online in Arabic or English, and we review both versions of bilingual stores.

What is the difference between Shopify Consultation and Shopify Development?+

Consultation diagnoses and plans: you get the findings and the roadmap. Development is when AlGurus builds or fixes the store for you. Many clients start with a consultation, then decide which parts to do in-house and which to hand to us.

Before you spend more on ads, let us look at the store.

Start with a 30-minute call. Tell us what the store sells, where and how it performs today. If a consultation makes sense, you will know exactly what it covers before we begin.
